Chung-Ang University (President Sangkyu Park) is accelerating future talent development centered on software (SW) and artificial intelligence (AI) convergence education.

Chung-Ang University announced the successful hosting of the ‘2025 SW·AI Tech Fair’ at the 100th Anniversary Memorial Hall on the Seoul campus from November 24 to 25. Organized by the SW Education Center (Director Changeun Lee), the event was designed to share the achievements of the SW-Centered University project with its members and to illuminate the convergence possibilities between software technology, industry development, and new ideas.

The event ran from the opening ceremony on the 24th through the awards ceremony on the 25th, consisting of six program areas: Capstone Design Competition, Coding Competition, SW·AI Startup Idea Competition, SW·AI Convergence Outstanding Achievement Presentation, Open Source SW·AI Deep Learning Hackathon, and SW·AI Convergence Academy.

In particular, the awards ceremony was enriched by the attendance of three students from Soongui Girls’ High School (first-year students Seoyun Lee and Chaewon Park, second-year student Hoyeon Lee, supervising teacher Dongwook Choi) who won the Grand Prize in the high school division of the ‘YAM (Youth AI Maker) Hackathon’ held in partnership with the Daebang Youth Center.

This event holds great significance in that it provided a venue for students to share educational achievements gained through self-directed learning, and a stepping stone for outstanding teams to advance toward employment and entrepreneurship.

Director Changeun Lee of the SW Education Center said, “We operated diverse programs involving not only SW majors but all members including students, professors, and industry partners participating in the SW-Centered University project, making it a valuable time to spread Chung-Ang University’s unique SW-centered education both on and off campus.”

Meanwhile, the SW-Centered University project is a national initiative supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information and Communications Technology Promotion (IITP) to innovate university software education based on field demands. Chung-Ang University is pursuing the project with goals including: reorganizing the university-led education system for SW·AI education enhancement, strengthening field-oriented major education reflecting new technologies and industry demands, expanding SW·AI convergence talent through interdisciplinary SW·AI convergence and linked programs, and operating programs to spread SW·AI values across society.
